Job Summary

The Marine HSE Officer oversees the effective management, development,

implementation, and maintenance of the company's health, safety, and compliance policies, ensuring the safety of all personnel and material assets

About the Role

  • Direct and maintain the company's HSE framework (policies, systems, strategies, preventive practices, standards), ensuring compliance.

  • Review internal HSE policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate.

  • Maintain awareness and preparedness across the department to foster a culture that prioritizes effective HSE practices

  • Execute annual HSE plan and deliver HSE Management information as and when required

  • Rollout HSE improvement programs and safety campaigns to increase HSE awareness and behavior and establish a culture of health and safety

  • Ensure all reported incidents and accidents are investigated in a timely manner.

  • Manage all field safety and staff training, including planning, assigning work, addressing complaints, and resolving issue

  • Implement corrective actions and ensure lessons learned are communicated across the organization and integrated into the program as needed.

  • Organize and participate in safety meetings across company locations to review HSE performance and policies.

  • Ensure Emergency and Contingency (E&C) drills are conducted and reviewed.

  • Report on health and safety awareness issues and maintain statistics.

  • Actively promote the company’s QHSE reputation and performance objectives throughout the organization and with customers and suppliers.

Qualification and Experience

  • Certificate Of Competency (Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch) or (Officer in charge of Engineering Watch)

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably with seagoing experience as a Third Officer or Third Engineer.

  • A graduate in relevant field of study or equivalent combination of experience and education in the oil and gas, offshore or marine

  • NEBOSH Diploma or NQV Level 4 Occupational Health and Safety.

Functional Skills Requirement

  • Highly motivated, self-starting individual with ability to work unsupervised in a high activity environment.

  • Specific experience in developing, managing and auditing of HSSEQ Management Systems within the oil and gas industry and/or maritime industry.

  • Extensive understanding of quality assurance, health and safety, environmental management and security management for vessels.

  • Has experience in accident and incident investigation
